The first solo trip I ever booked terrified me.
I remember sitting at the airport wondering if I had made a mistake. What if I got lost? What if something went wrong? What if I wasn’t brave enough?
No one was going to figure it out for me.
When I arrived, there were moments when I felt completely out of my comfort zone. I missed trains, got lost in unfamiliar streets, and stood in front of maps longer than I’d like to admit. But every challenge forced me to trust myself a little more.
By the end of the trip, I realized something.
The person I had been waiting for—the one who was confident, capable, and fearless—wasn’t going to suddenly appear.
I had to become that person.
Travel didn’t make life easier. It simply showed me that I was stronger than I believed. Every problem I solved on my own became proof that I could handle more than I thought.
Now, whenever I face something difficult, I think back to that first journey. I remember that I found my way, even when I didn’t know where I was going.
